Convention material, including pamphlets, programs, news releases and flyers, from the 1975 Conference on Women in Public Life held in Austin, the 1977 National Women's Conference held in Houston, the Texas Women's Political Caucus, ERAmerica Strategy Session, and the 1979 ERA Summit Conference at the White House. Correspondence, speeches, newspaper clippings, women's political publications, photos, and magazine reprints pertaining to the status of women, equal rights events, and Vackar's political activities are included. Also, publications, newslettters, fact sheets, and poster from the White House office of Sarah Weddington, chairwoman of the Interdepartmental Task Force on Women, dealing with the accomplishments of the Carter administration in the Women's Equal Rights Movement.

Sarah Ragle Weddington was born on February 5, 1945, in Abilene, Texas. She received a B.S. from McMurry College in Abilene in 1965 and a J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin in 1967. She practiced law in Austin, Texas, from 1967 to 1977, and in 1970 and 1971 she was assistant city attorney in Fort Worth, Texas.
